The meeting chaired by Dr Joanne Pike, featured contributions from Lenny Shallcross, Dr Rebecca Edelmeyer, Dr Donna Wilcock, Robert Egge, Fiona Carragher and Dr Lea Grinberg, and explored how scientific progress in brain health can be translated into effective global advocacy.

  • Alzheimer’s & Dementia: Dementia in Latin America and the Caribbean

    On May 13, 2025, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association of the United States, the World Dementia Council (WDC) held its inaugural Satellite Summit in Lima, Peru. This summit, the culminating event in the WDC’s Latin America and Caribbean series, convened key stakeholders to discuss the public policy landscape across the region and how advocacy can be leveraged to advance efforts around dementia prevention, quality care and research.

  • Alzheimer’s & Dementia: WDC Publication on Dementia in the Caribbean

    Each month updates and insights from the World Dementia Council will be featured in Alzheimers and Dementia: the Journal of the Alzheimer'’s Association. Read more in the open access journal about two WDC dialogue on dementia in the Caribbean one focussed on health system preparedness and the second on advocacy and awareness.
