Read About the Network
Alzheimer's disease is now treatable. As in other diseases that have moved from untreatable to treatable, health systems are at very different stages in whether they are willing and able to pay for treatments, and how prepared they are to deliver them. Advocacy's task is shifting from securing research funding to getting treatments and diagnostics adopted, which means payer decisions, pathways, capacity, workforce and diagnosis.

From Breakthrough to Delivery: The Work Ahead
International patient advocacy leaders call for action to ensure access to disease-modifying treatments for Alzheimer’s disease. In this blog they argue that regulatory approval must now translate into real-world availability for patients. The piece highlights the gap between progress in science and delivery in practice — and sets out a shared commitment to work across the dementia field and beyond to help close it.
The Global Advocacy Leaders Network brings together the leaders of the world's largest dementia not-for-profits to share their work on public advocacy. Convened by the World Dementia Council, it gives organisations that shape the public and political conversation on dementia in their own countries a space to compare approaches, learn from what has and has not worked, and explore where their efforts could reinforce one another across borders.
