Lima Peru — 13 May 2025
This inaugural one-day WDC Satellite Summit, hosted in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association explored the public policy response to the challenge of dementia in Latin America and the Caribbean. Given the rapidly ageing population, policymakers need to urgently address the challenges dementia presents. The 2025 WDC Satellite Summit challenged participants to think boldly and offer solutions from prevention, to research and care and ask how advocacy can help secure those advances. The Council will shortly publish a transcript of the meeting.
The Summit followed a series of dialogues on dementia in Latin America and the Carribean and together with the discussion at the Summit the reflections and recommendations will be brought together in a paper to be published later this summer.
